Last week Tuesday afternoon, the students came back from the 2:00pm recess and stumbled upon a time machine in our classroom! We investigated a little bit and decided that we needed to turn it on to see what would happen. First we turned it to the year 1706 and out came Benjamin Franklin!
Benjamin was very confused about how ended up in our classroom! He told us a little bit about himself and his accomplishments in his life. Benjamin said goodbye and the students decided we HAD to see who else would come out of the time machine. Next we turned to the year 1884. This time a woman stepped out of the machine. It was Eleanor Roosevelt. She told us about being the First Lady and the great things she did for others.
Eleanor politely said goodbye. There was only one date left: 1929. We weren't sure who was going to come out! I turned the dial and out came...Otto Frank! Otto informed us that he was the father of Anne Frank. He told us about her diary she wrote and time in World War II.
The class said goodbye to Otto as we sadly realized our time machine was out of dates. It was a great adventure!
